| Bank of Canada Rate
Decrease |
The Bank of Canada announced
on January 22, 2008 that it had lowered its
overnight rate to 4.00%. This means that the prime
lending rate has decreased from 6.00% to 5.75% at the
majority of Canadian lending institutions. This
announcement has a direct impact on consumers with
a variable rate mortgage or a secured line of
